Kim Ellison, LCSW-R
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Throughout her 19 years in practice Kim has served the Hudson Valley community across diverse settings, including outpatient care, hospital diversion, crisis management, child welfare and school aged day treatment. In addition to providing direct services to children, adolescents and families she has spearheaded program design and implementation to enhance regional mental health services. As a clinical supervisor, she has also mentored therapists across multiple disciplines. Kim utilizes an eclectic, strength-based approach, integrating extensive training in evidence based modalities such as but not limited to CBT, DBT, Trauma Focused CBT, Parent Child Interaction Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Structural Family Therapy.
Services are provided via a traditional medical model, where clients use insurance to access standard therapy sessions or through an intensive model that offers more comprehensive therapeutic intervention in one session but for a longer duration. This intensive approach often provides deeper support when time is of the essence.

Jenifer Giordano, LMHC
Jenifer comes to Hudson Valley Therapy with a decade of experience treating children and adolescents in day treatment programs, Head Start, residential settings, and group private practice.
She works with children and adolescents who have been diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, OCD, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, and Sensory Processing differences. Jenifer uses play therapy as a central part of her work, because play therapy is a child's natural language, and it helps them express what words sometimes can't. She is pursuing the Registered Play Therapist credential and incorporates Child-Centered Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Play Therapy, and Exposure Response Prevention to meet each individual’s needs.
Her goal is to create a warm, supportive, safe space where children, teens and young adults feel understood, and parents feel supported. Whatever needs your child/adolescent has, Jenifer is here to help.

Clinical Interns
At Hudson Valley Therapy, we typically host one to two clinical interns as part of our commitment to accessible care. These interns are closely supervised by both our experienced HVT clinicians and their respective university programs—effectively providing you with the collaborative expertise of multiple therapists for the price of one. Our intern program allows us to offer low-cost services to a more diverse population while ensuring personalized attention; because interns maintain smaller caseloads, they can collaborate more intensively with your child’s school staff, doctors, and other care providers. If you are interested in this option, please reach out to Kim Ellison to discuss further.
